StreetFights 2012 at Country ParkAnnual Youth Dance Festival
StreetFights 2012 at Country ParkThe StreetFights contemporary youth dance festival was held in the Country Park Business Center on March 4. This is the fourth time the LiberDance club has organized the event, which gathers together a large number of members of the hip-hop culture; and this year for the first time the festival was held in the atrium at Country Park.
Country Park is ideally suited to the spirit of the festival, since StreetFights has traditionally been marked by warmth and friendliness, where the audience and participants not only cheer for their own, but also enthusiastically welcome other “faces”, even rivals if they’re really good! The festival’s program was really packed, with juniors and pros competing in five categories: break dance, hip-hop, house, popping and c-walk. The highlight of the event was the show team contest. This time, Check de Sound from Tver dazzled everyone with a performance outstanding for its sophisticated choreography and originality that deserved first place. On awarding the prize to the winners, Alexander Yakushev, the Managing Director of LiberDance, noted: “Every year, the festival is becoming more and more interesting and entertaining, attracts more and more high-level dancers, and a lot people are coming back to the festival again. We believe these festivals will promote the future development of youth dance culture, since here you have live dance experience and the hip-hop culture itself, where mutual support, sincere respect for talent, ambition, motivation, constant exploration and personal development, a sense of humor and creativity are indispensable.” To see the reportage from the festival click here.
